Who can hear the big thunderstorm (track 2, 15´38) which was trimmed back in size, becoming really small, really gentle and quiet in order to contribute to SHADOW´S DELIGHT? Namely - according to Zhuang Zhou -: not to depend on something to be as he is while it rains.

Which instrument comports oneself like a shadow? Somebody comes up to the light and casts a shadow, this is an abrupt act, and then it lies there, the shadow, totally calm, breathed out. I thought of a marimba, a very dark one. Warm tones which fill the room immediately, like bubbles, the displosion beyond audibility.

Also the last cd of the series EMPTY MUSIC - the dedication for Jürgen Albrecht is specified in the text about the mini cd SHADOW´S DELIGHT - deal with pauses. How long can one stay with a sound, dwell on it, even if it has already faded away? When does the thoughts begin to wander? Monitoring this musical logic leads to extensive wanderings. They have to be undertaken by the listener all alone - due to the epic pauses - and hopefully open up new undisguised spaces, empty and light, and longing for attention, even becoming an exercitation - dozing is probably easier beyond this music -, so the aspect of meditation assistance is integrated.

There is a second track only due to volume adjustment. The first two tones of the contrabass marimba should be very very tender and far away, barely hearable.
